Every word counts
As a freelance journalist, copywriter, author and editor, I understand the importance of well-crafted sentences, sharp details and fresh vocabulary. Hire me and you’ll get thoroughly researched, sparkling copy delivered on deadline.
I provide writing and editing services – from words through to project management – for a wide range of clients, including The Guardian, New Statesman, Sunday Times Travel Magazine, The Ecologist, Conde Nast Traveller, The Big Issue, Third Sector, Ethical Living, Foodtripper, Wizz travel, Business Sense, Escape, Horticulture Week, Hudsons Heritage and WGSN.com among others. I also run a website called Ethical Travel and have just completed my first book, The Armchair Activist’s Handbook, to be published in summer 2013.
I have written pieces on everything from hidden restaurants in Buenos Aires to business negotiation, wrestled a quote out of Ann Widdecombe and put together a detailed economic outlook for Europe with expert opinions from nearly every country on the continent. I am experienced in both print and online; at ease contributing to customer, consumer or business publications. I am quick to learn new content management systems and have a basic knowledge of HTML. Working as a sub means that I also have impeccable grammar, a keen eye for detail and am a dab hand at making dull prose shine – on a diverse range of subjects. My specialities include the environment, social issues and travel, but I am willing to become an expert on just about anything.
I have a passion for innovation and creativity, and have made considerable contributions to several successful magazine pitches and launch projects. Even under incredibly tight deadlines, I pride myself on producing quality content.
