So I took part in Blog Action Day this year. It’s an event that brings together thousands of bloggers from all over the world to blog on one topic for a single day. It aims to encourage people to focus on a social important subject, as well as to prompt those who might not normally blog about social issues to engage in this area. It’s about prompting reflection, conversation and maybe even action on the subjects covered. It offers people a way into activism that’s accessible.
This year, the topic was human rights. My contribution looks at why travel is a human rights issue, and you can read it at www.goethicaltravel.com. Or to get a taste of the other topics covered on the day, see the Blog Action Day’s coverage.
If you missed this year’s event but would like to get involved next time round, follow Blog Action Day on Twitter for updates.
